The longest list of fruits in Korean

Did you learn how to say the names of common vegetables in Korean, yet? Or are you more fond of fruit? A fruitarian, perhaps? 🍓😋❤️ Then knowing the names of fruits is essential for survival. [Additionally, you might want to learn Korean names of seeds, e.g. cereals and beans or nuts. Or if you don’t know how to read Korean yet, here’s a free and easy guide to learning the alphabet!]

Fruits are Korea’s traditional dessert – naturally vegan🌱 and gluten-free🚫🌾! Ironically and sadly, they are often more expensive than processed sweets in Korea… They are indeed valuable treats which are packed with vitamins and energy! The diversity of fruits on earth seems endless! And the Korean peninsula houses its own fruit varieties as well as native wild fruits. What’s your favorite fruit? Wonder whether it is available in Korea or too exotic? ❓ Let’s hear about it! ❗️ Comment below or send me a message!

Below vocabulary list provides the names of fruits in Korean language. 🗒🍎🇰🇷🇰🇵 The structure of this extensive list is based largely on the type of fruit, so you will find fruits grouped as berries🍓, so-called stone fruit🍑, citrus fruit🍋 et cetera.

Now, let’s find out how to talk about fruit and learn important fruit names in Korean! 🔍👀 But before we begin, be aware that edible fruits are referred to as gwa-il 과일! A dictionary will give you more translations for the word “fruit” in Korean, e.g. yeolmae 열매 or gwasil 과실 果實, but those words refer to fruits in the botanical sense – not to food!

By the way, fruits and vegetables together are referred to as cheonggwa 청과 靑果. Thus, stores that sell mostly fruits and vegetables may contain the word “청과” in their name. Also, a market for fruits and vegetables is correspondingly called cheonggwa sijang 청과시장 靑果市場.
